About the position

The Plant Operations Technician is responsible for monitoring and optimizing plant operations to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical equipment, performing maintenance, and operating various systems within the plant. The technician will also be required to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and respond to call-outs as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor plant operation/processes for optimizing quality and production of products.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment including natural gas internal combustion engines, compressors, and control equipment.
  • Install and perform maintenance on equipment such as pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Operate cryogenics plant, stabilizer, amine, and glycol treatment systems.
  • Collect data readings and monitor plant equipment.
  • Fill out work/hot work permits and lockout/tag-out documentation.
  • Participate in tailgate sessions with work site teams.
  • Perform routine shutdowns and startups of equipment and emergency procedures when required.
  • Act as relief operator as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related midstream work experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams and vendors.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and close quarters.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in the industry or knowledge of plant operations.
  • Understanding of utilizing horsepower and compression.
  • Warehouse knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process failures.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management.
