Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install new electrical systems, equipment, and components as required.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and avoid electrical failures.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, to perform electrical tasks.
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to safety codes, plant standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Work independently to complete complex tasks under general guidance from supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program in electrical work or related fields is generally required.
  • State Electrician’s license is required.
  • Typically requires 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within an industrial or plant setting.
  • Proven proficiency in a broad range of electrical activities, including both routine and complex tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, with an emphasis on safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a variety of electrical issues with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb and work in elevated locations.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and ability to stand for periods of up to 3 hours.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.
  • Shift-work necessary.
