We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Plant Controller to lead accounting, inventory control, production flow, and parts distribution within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost accounting, inventory management, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with corporate standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in inventory accounting and cost accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization—from shop floor to senior leadership
  • Ability to interpret data, metrics, and financial reports to drive decisions
  • Comfortable presenting information to small and large groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Solid understanding of mathematical concepts (ratios, percentages, and cost calculations)
  • Ability to interpret and execute instructions in various formats (written, verbal, diagram-based)
  • Experience working in diverse and multicultural workplace environments

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly financial close process in partnership with the Director of Production Accounting
  • Analyze and report daily cost variances, benchmarking metrics, and operational statistics
  • Manage job costing for components and finished products
  • Monitor and maintain standard cost structures in a standard costing environment
  • Update and maintain bill of materials (BOM) costs
  • Produce reports on work orders, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods
  • Track and report component utilization aligned with BOM standards
  • Oversee all inventory control functions, including cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Analyze production schedules and collaborate with department leaders to ensure material availability
  • Monitor plant activity to ensure compliance with corporate standards, including J-SOX controls
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies in bill of materials with Engineering
  • Develop, implement, and train staff on inventory processes and material flow best practices
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate recording, labeling, and distribution
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory accuracy and cost management
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Directly supervise team members within Accounting
  • Manage hiring, training, performance evaluation, and employee development
  • Plan and allocate work effectively across the team
  • Foster a collaborative environment and resolve employee concerns
