About the position

The Plant Accountant will oversee all accounting activities related to plant operations, ensuring precise financial record-keeping and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role is crucial for generating financial reports and supporting decision-making processes within the plant.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts specific to plant operations.
• Prepare financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Monitor and analyze plant expenses and variances, offering insights and recommendations for cost management.
• Conduct inventory accounting and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts for the plant.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with plant management to support both operational and financial decision-making.
• Perform cost accounting and analysis to aid in pricing and profitability decisions.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Continuously enhance accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
