About the position

The Planner Scheduler role at Flex is crucial for managing materials and production flow to support the manufacturing of innovative products. This position involves developing production plans based on various factors such as capacity and material availability, while collaborating with multiple departments to ensure efficient operations and adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).

Responsibilities

  • Manage materials and material flow to support production planning.
  • Assist in defining standard work in progress (WIP) and Supermarket quantities.
  • Implement Flex best practices in production planning.
  • Develop production plans based on capacity, personnel, and material availability.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Test, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Monitor and control the implementation of production plans, addressing deviations as necessary.
  • Manage material movement within WIP and assist in cycle count activities.
  • Define and manage material flows to support production plans.
  • Monitor system accuracy for item data, routing, BOM, and non-consumed demand.
  • Prepare Clean to Build reports and check material availability, replanning if necessary.
  • Monitor open work orders and stock levels, handling stock differences as needed.
  • Prepare management and CFT-specific reports, monitoring KPIs.
  • Advise non-exempt associates on day-to-day customer request priorities.
  • Proactively address issues impacting committed ship dates, lead times, and inventory goals.
  • Coordinate and manage high-visibility customer programs and product startup initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements in Order Management and related areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Autonomous and multi-tasking skill set.
  • Automotive and/or high-speed production background (preferred).
  • Experience in production planning for high-speed/high-volume environments.
  • Inventory control experience for high-speed/high-volume (preferred).
  • ERP experience, preferably with BaaN (preferred).
  • High level of Excel knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact cross-functionally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in automotive production environments.
  • Familiarity with high-speed production processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems.
