About the position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking dynamic, motivated, career-minded individuals to join our expanding team! We have been recognized as an industry leader in the Mid-Atlantic Region for over 50 years. The Pipe Fitter position involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining commercial and industrial production and processing industrial piping systems. The role requires interpreting sketches, blueprints, and isometric drawings, as well as performing various tasks related to pipe installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets sketches, blueprints, and isometric drawings
  • Cleans, bevels, prepares, and installs pipe with various fittings and weld joints
  • Performs layout, rigging, and transportation of pipe, valves, and fittings
  • Installs pipe and related materials and equipment
  • Inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions
  • Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
  • Cuts pipe using pipe cutter, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
  • Threads pipe using threading machine
  • Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
  • Tests piping systems
  • Loads, transports, and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of material and work pieces during installation
  • Maintains tools and equipment
  • Relies on pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience as a pipe fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
  • NCCER certified
  • Ability to sketch complex isometric drawings with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Nice-to-haves
