About the position

Curia provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Pilot Plant Technician is an integral part of the Curia team. As the Pilot Plant Technician you will support new product and existing product development within the production department by manufacturing products within a safe GMP environment. Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and machinery to support production processes as described in production batch records.
  • Complete and maintain associated batch documentation necessary for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical intermediates or other products.
  • Perform all duties safely in accordance with Curia Safety Program, OSHA requirements, FDA regulations, and all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform all duties within the guidelines outlined by Good Manufacturing Practices for active pharmaceutical intermediates.
  • Perform all duties in an environmentally compliant manner in accordance with the Curia Springfield Environmental Program.
  • Be proactive in assuming responsibilities that enable the building to function more effectively such as maintaining excellent housekeeping, initiating maintenance requests to repair faulty equipment, assisting in casual maintenance, and effectively preparing for new production in the building.
  • Perform other duties as directed to effectively assist departments in developing new products to the Company and supporting existing manufacturing when necessary.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's of Science degree (B.S.) in Chemistry (or related sciences) and one or more years related experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing or pilot plant operations environment.
  • Strong communication skills, math skills, and time management skills.
  • A good 'team player' attitude with the ability to work with changing priorities and the flexibility to work any shift depending on the current project work load.
  • Basic knowledge of cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing, safety and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Capability of training and providing work direction for other technicians.
