Pile Driver

About the position

Kokosing is seeking experienced Pile Drivers for projects in Wallops Island, VA, and Northern VA/DC/MD. The role involves operating pile drivers mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as bridges and piers.

Responsibilities

• Skilled in use of necessary hand and power tools
• Conducts pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Cleans, lubricates, and refills equipment
• Drives pilings to provide support for structures such as bridges, using heavy equipment with a pile driver head
• Moves hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings
• Moves levers and turns valves to activate power hammers, or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive pile to required depths

Requirements

• Experience in marine pile driving operations including Concrete pile, H-pile, and Pipe pile
• Ability to understand English
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, read rule, calculate measurements, and apply concepts of geometry
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations
