Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to a panel of adult patients.
  • Order diagnostic testing and prescribe medications, including contraceptive medications.
  • Consult with specialty services and utilize computerized/electronic medical records.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to support VA quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Deliver patient care in accordance with professional standards and core values.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, or Commonwealth.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine/Family Practice by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Board of Family Practice (ABFM).
