About the position

We are seeking an experienced, relationship-driven Physician Liaison to lead our efforts in building strategic partnerships with independent physicians and provider groups for the purpose of enhancing patient recruitment into clinical trials. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare operations, HIPAA compliance, and the nuances of clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage independent physicians and specialty clinics with eligible patient populations for clinical trials.
  • Build trusted relationships and articulate the value proposition of research partnerships.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and related contracts to ensure secure and compliant access to patient data for recruitment purposes.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations to design tailored recruitment plans that leverage partner physicians' patient databases while maintaining ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all patient outreach and data-sharing activities are conducted in full compliance with HIPAA and other federal and state privacy regulations.
  • Act as the liaison between external providers and internal teams, including clinical operations, marketing, legal, and business development, to ensure alignment of recruitment strategies with study needs.
  • Track outreach performance, recruitment results, and feedback from physician partners to inform strategic decisions and continuously improve partnership models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in physician relations, clinical research recruitment, business development, or healthcare partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in contract negotiation and stakeholder management, especially with BAAs or data-sharing agreements.
  • Deep knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy laws, and ethical recruitment practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with clinical trial site network operations.
  • Experience working with EHR data or patient registries for recruitment.
  • Network of independent or small-group physicians in therapeutic areas like neurology, endocrinology, pulmonary, or primary care.
