About The Position

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Physician Hospitalist to join an established Hospital Medicine team in Auburn, California. The role involves managing a patient census of 10-14 patients per hospitalist on average, with a hybrid/open ICU model. Hospitalists and Nocturnists manage the ICU after 5 PM, including critical care and procedures. The schedule typically involves 7 AM-5 PM day rounding with flexible scheduling options, often in 5-7 day blocks. Admissions occur during day shifts, and approximately 2 weekends per month are expected. Specialty support is available 24/7, including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Nephrology, Tele-Neurology, Tele-Stroke, and Tele-Psychiatry. There is no physician call, but Physician Medical Assistants (PMA) provide consults from 7 AM to 5 PM. The position is 1.0 FTE with a compensation structure including a base guarantee, productivity incentives, and a quality bonus. Requirements

Board Certified/Eligible in Hospital Medicine (e.g., ABIM/ABFM via ABMS as appropriate).
Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and team-based practice.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable practicing in a Hybrid/Open ICU environment.
Able to perform central lines and intubations.
Open to FM-trained candidates with demonstrated ICU comfort.
Valid medical licensure in the State of California prior to starting.
Federal Unrestricted DEA.

Responsibilities
