About The Position

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive outpatient medical care within the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation clinic. Working under the supervision of a physician, the PA performs physical examinations, develops treatment plans, and supports patients across the continuum of care with a focus on restoring function and improving quality of life.

Requirements

Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program (MS-PAS)
Current Louisiana PA License (or eligibility)
NCCPA Certification
BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based outpatient environment
Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning

Responsibilities

Conduct patient histories and perform comprehensive physical exams
Evaluate and manage conditions using lab results, imaging, and clinical findings
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
Order and perform diagnostic procedures as delegated
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
Provide patient education and counseling to support recovery and wellness
Coordinate referrals to PT/OT and medical subspecialties as appropriate
Document and communicate care plans and findings with referring providers
Support clinic flow and assist with patient follow-up and triage
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Serve as a resource to nursing and clinic staff
Assist with preoperative evaluations and procedural support as needed
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs
Contribute to research activities, when applicable
Maintain licensure, certifications, and ongoing professional development
