About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW Sub-specialty: Radiology Physician Assistant Department: RP Houston Location: Houston, TX Position Summary Primary role is to be a physician extender/substitute for minor procedures and patient care in Interventional and Diagnostic radiology Assist in the facilitation of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults and inpatient rounding Work closely with a team of radiologists and hospital employees to ensure that inpatient fluoroscopic procedures are completed timely Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, and assist patients in completing consents Perform fluoroscopic studies within the hospital outpatient and inpatient imaging departments Perform or assist in procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis and biopsies Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients Other duties as assigned Monday - Friday (Weekend / Call Available If Desired) LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW RP Houston is seeking a Radiology Physician Assistant to join our well-established practice in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will be someone autonomous, who enjoys minor procedures and patient management across different areas of the practice. This role will work closely with the practice radiologists, physician assistants, and hospital staff to ensure smooth patient care. Teamwork is a must! They will also be responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with Radiology Partners goals.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas preferred
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited program
  • Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants
  • One year Physician Assistant experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required

Responsibilities
