Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient health by interviewing and performing physical examinations.
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting results.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as administering injections and managing wounds.
  • Instructs and counsels patients on therapeutic regimens and wellness promotion.
  • Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies.
  • Complies with legal and professional requirements by studying legislation and advising management.
  • Maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Develops healthcare team staff by providing educational opportunities and experiential growth.
  • Establishes linkages with schools' medical departments for continuity of care.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current PA license in the state of CT.
  • Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination certification.
  • Two years experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills.
  • Physiological knowledge.
