About the position

The Physician Assistant (PA) at The Farley Center provides essential health care services to clients under the supervision of a physician. This role involves delivering both medical and psychotherapeutic care through comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, ensuring high-quality care in compliance with relevant standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performs medical assessments of clients to determine their general physical condition, following standard medical procedures.
  • Completes documentation in the medical record accurately and timely, recording all care rendered.
  • Organizes data concerning the client's family, personal medical and mental history, and onset of symptoms from various sources.
  • Develops and implements client management plans, records progress notes, and assists in continuity of care in compliance with industry standards.
  • Provides emergency services in the absence of the physician, including primary care for trauma and other procedures.
  • Prescribes medications and treatments for illnesses in accordance with state regulations.
  • Instructs and counsels clients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
  • Provides therapeutic treatments such as disinfecting wounds and stitching.
  • Orders laboratory and other special diagnostic tests as required and evaluates data upon receipt.
  • Provides client education and guidance to clinical staff to ensure quality of care.
  • Works collaboratively with the physician in planning, evaluating, and revising care plans.
  • Coordinates client care activities through ongoing consultation with the facility leadership team.
  • Reviews medical reports released under the name of the facility for assigned clients.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Specialty program from an accredited school required.
  • One or more years' experience working with the client population of the facility required.
  • Current professional Physician Assistant license required, per state regulations; may also require a current DEA license.
  • CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire).
