Trauma Surgery - Full-Time NP/PA
About The Position
Atrium Health Floyd/Harbin is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their growing Trauma & Emergency General Surgery team in Rome, Georgia. This role offers hands-on trauma and surgical experience with physician mentorship, autonomy, and a collaborative culture. The position involves responding to trauma activations, rounding with the surgical team, managing inpatient trauma and emergency general surgery patients, completing consults and admissions, performing bedside procedures, and participating in weekly trauma clinic coverage. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off, with daily coverage from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced APPs and motivated new graduates looking to enter trauma surgery.
Requirements
- Physician Assistants strongly encouraged to apply
- New grads with strong surgical/trauma rotations welcome
- Nurse Practitioners with inpatient surgical or trauma-focused training encouraged
Responsibilities
- Respond to Level I & Level II trauma activations
- Round daily with the surgical team
- Manage inpatient trauma and emergency general surgery patients
- Complete consults, admissions, and progress notes
- Perform bedside procedures including: Chest tubes, FAST exams, and additional trauma-related procedures
- Participate in weekly trauma clinic coverage
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
