About the position

The PRN Surgical ICU Advanced Practice Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at UCHealth is responsible for providing personalized, evidence-based patient care in a collaborative environment. This role involves working with the Surgical ICU team and the Trauma Acute Care Surgery team, participating in multi-disciplinary in-patient rounding, and supporting a work-life balance with no call required. The position is PRN, requiring full day, weekend, and holiday shift coverage.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the Surgical ICU and Trauma Acute Care Surgery teams.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary in-patient rounding on the unit.
• Provide evidence-based patient care in the Surgical ICU setting.
• Support a work-life balance with flexible scheduling.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
• Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the ANCC or AANPCB or PA-C certification from NCCPA.
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Colorado.
• Full Prescriptive Authority and unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe medications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.

Nice-to-haves

• One year of Trauma Surgery & Acute Care experience.
• One year of Critical Care experience.
