Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • No prior experience required
  • Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required
  • Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.
  • License for Physical Therapy Assistant active in the state of Missouri

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance and direction of a Physical Therapist a Physical Therapy Assistant assists the Therapist with therapeutic exercises, training or treatment plans to return the patient to a normal pattern of movement and functioning as possible.
  • Works with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages who are referred for medical and educational services.
  • The primary functions are to perform patient related activities, including delegated procedures that are commensurate with educational skill and training.
  • Responsible for communication of care to physical therapy staff or others to evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
