About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and acute care environments. Your expertise in patient rehabilitation will play a crucial role in helping individuals regain their mobility and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance patient strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Implement specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy as needed.
Requirements
- CPR Certification
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong understanding of physiology and human anatomy
- Background in orthopedics, geriatrics, or acute care settings
- Familiarity with patient care practices in both inpatient and outpatient environments
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
