About the position
The Exercise Specialist/Physical Therapy Aide at Highbar Physical Therapy plays a crucial role in supporting physical therapists and assistants in delivering patient care. This part-time position involves maintaining treatment areas, assisting with patient interventions, and performing administrative tasks to ensure a smooth operation within the clinic. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping others and are looking to contribute to a growing outpatient physical therapy practice.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the condition and cleanliness of treatment rooms and gym area meets standards.
- Assist clinical staff with patient intervention following the plan of care as directed by the PT or PTA.
- Provide treatment that may include exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, aquatic therapy, modalities, and education on posture, ergonomics, ADLs, and body mechanics.
- Assist administrative staff with tasks such as scheduling/rescheduling patients, answering phones, and assisting patients with intake.
- Maintain a clean environment for the safety of patients and efficiency of clinicians, including cleaning tables and treatment areas, maintaining supplies, and cleaning exercise equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or related field strongly preferred.
