About the position

Plymouth Physical Therapy Specialists is seeking a full-time Travel Physical Therapist to work at multiple sites in the metro Detroit region. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for orthopedics and a desire for continued professional growth. The clinic has a strong reputation built over 30 years, focusing on patient-centered care and offering a variety of specialized services including Balance/LSVT, Laser Therapy, Golf Systems, Hand Therapy, and more. The role involves assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and providing direct patient care while ensuring effective communication with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on the evaluation results.
  • Reviews the Physician's referral and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.
  • Provides direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
  • Documents findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
  • Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
  • Completes a written plan of care, develops goals based on evaluation findings, and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.
  • Implements physical therapy treatment program and provides essential physical therapy treatments.
  • Communicates effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.
  • Ensures timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Master of Physical Therapy Degree (MPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT)
  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Current state of Michigan license or ability to obtain Michigan license and CPR certification
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) abilities are a plus
  • Possesses basic PC skills and knowledge, including but not limited to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Database software, and MS Office
