About the position

Physical Therapists (PTs) play a critical role in helping patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses, improve mobility, and regain functional abilities. Their duties can vary depending on the hospital department, but generally, they include: The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients. The PT contributes to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols. The PT also contributes to the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators. Patient and family education is included in the treatment plan and goals. The PT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies. The therapist will participate in departmental operational plan.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients.
  • Contributes to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols.
  • Contributes to the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators.
  • Includes patient and family education in the treatment plan and goals.
  • Completes documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies.
  • Participates in departmental operational plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree for Physical Therapy from an accredited institution by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • New graduates accepted but experience is preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky and Certified.
  • BLS Certification Required.
