About the position

The Physical Therapist (PRN - PT) at Crowne of Mobile is responsible for ensuring the highest degree of quality care while providing therapy services to patients and supervising therapy assistants. The role involves assessing and evaluating therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status, and participating in the development of the total plan of care according to a physician's written plan. The therapist will direct physical therapy treatment, instruct patients and families in the use and care of therapeutic appliances, and report to the physician regarding the patient's reaction to treatment or changes in condition. The position also includes preparing clinical and progress summaries, participating in discharge planning, and maintaining communication with other personnel involved in patient care. The therapist will supervise physical therapy assistants and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical therapy services to patients according to a physician's written plan of care.
  • Assesses and evaluates therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status.
  • Directs physical therapy treatment.
  • Instructs patients and families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances.
  • Determines priority needs for physical therapy.
  • Reports to physician patient's reaction to treatment or changes in condition.
  • Initiates physical therapy and instructs other personnel and/or family/caregiver members.
  • Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries based on the attainment of goals.
  • Participates in discharge planning for patients.
  • Maintains contact/communication with other personnel involved in the patient's care.
  • Attends and contributes to in-services, case conferences, and other meetings.
  • Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs and refers as appropriate.
  • Supervises physical therapy assistants according to company policy and state regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possesses a degree from a baccalaureate or Master's program in physical therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Hold a valid and current license to practice physical therapy in the state employed.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience as a physical therapist.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
  • Familiarity with general use and functions of the computer, including starting programs, using files, apps and navigating screens.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured and in good working order.
  • Must be capable of performing the job functions of this position with or without accommodation.
