About the position

The Physical Therapist at Ochsner Health is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting physical therapy treatment programs based on evaluations and medical referrals. This role involves maintaining patient care records, evaluating patient responses to treatment, and recommending changes to treatment plans. The Physical Therapist also participates in continuing education, departmental programs, clinical education, and assists with program development and enhancement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and conduct physical therapy treatment programs based on evaluation and medical referral.
  • Maintain patient care records and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
  • Recommend changes to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in in-service and continuing education programs.
  • Assist with program development and enhancement.
  • Participate in special departmental programs, clinical education, and research.
  • Train and educate physical therapy students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current physical therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience as a Physical Therapist.
