Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough phone assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate care pathways.
• Provide accurate medical advice to patients based on established protocols and escalate urgent cases to physicians when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
• Document patient interactions and interventions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) system.
• Possess basic understanding of medications to aid in patient education and adherence support.
• Communicate effectively with physicians to relay patient information, seek guidance, and facilitate decision-making.
• Prioritize patient needs based on severity of symptoms and available resources.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, medication refills, and medical record management.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on medical protocols.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant Registration or Certification Preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Proficiency in phone triage techniques and telemedicine.
• Basic knowledge of medications and ability to educate patients.
• Strong communication skills, with the capability to interact effectively with physicians and patients.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
