About The Position

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist for their Hematology and Oncology department. This is a full-time, day shift position. The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens for laboratory testing, labeling, processing, and delivering specimens, and collecting blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques. They will also maintain equipment and medical supplies, and assist with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, AMT or NHA preferred.
  • Laboratory experience preferred.
