About the position

The Phlebotomist II position at Spectraforce Technologies Inc. is a critical role that serves as the face of the company to patients, ensuring a high level of service and care. Under the supervision of the area supervisor, the Phlebotomist II will be responsible for performing daily activities accurately and on time, maintaining a safe and professional environment. This includes both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, ensuring compliance with established practices and procedures. The Phlebotomist II will also maintain required records and documentation, demonstrating organizational commitment and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. The position requires the ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment, work independently with minimal supervision, and possess excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients. Flexibility is essential, as the role may require working weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs. The Phlebotomist II must also have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, as travel to multiple locations may be necessary with minimal notice. The ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting is crucial, along with superior customer focus and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
  • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens safely and accurately.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment while performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Maintain required records and documentation related to specimen collection and patient interactions.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum of two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal onsite supervision.
  • Must be flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
