About the position

The Phlebotomist II P/T position is located in Warren, NJ, and is part of the Patient Services job family within Operations. This role requires the collection of specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams. The schedule for this position is on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required, with unvaccinated individuals subject to regular testing. The pay range starts at $18.94 per hour, with salary offers based on various factors including skills, training, experience, and education. Successful candidates may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures.
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training.
  • Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders.
  • Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
  • Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required.
  • Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform all non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
  • Complete online and in-person training courses timely.

Requirements

  • Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
