Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures to obtain adequate samples from patients, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
• Supports laboratory activities related to testing, including specimen collection and processing, to ensure accurate result reporting.
• Maintains department equipment and inventory to ensure proper supplies are available.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and assists in training new hires as assigned.
• Adheres to compliance policies related to job duties, including presenting Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) when necessary.
• Efficiently uses time to complete tasks accurately and timely, mindful of laboratory funds and supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred.
• 6 months of experience preferred, depending on assignment.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Reliable transportation and a valid Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record are required.
