Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical field preferred.
  • Ability to push a cart and walk distances.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency for Phlebotomist II.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an approved agency.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification.
  • Medical Technologist (MT) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
  • Provide rapid response to medical emergencies such as traumas and codes.
  • Work independently and as a team, actively partnering with team members.
  • Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Use a variety of computer programs and systems throughout daily routine.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, handling, and transportation.
  • Answer phones and assist with the training of students and new employees.
