The position also involves collaboration with pharmacists and other healthcare members to assist patients effectively, manage inventory, and maintain operational efficiency in the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Greets patients and assists in responding to their needs in the pharmacy.
  • Gathers patient information and processes prescriptions requested by the patient.
  • Communicates with the patient any issue or delay in filling their prescriptions.
  • Notifies Pharmacist and contacts prescriber if appropriate regarding prescription concerns.
  • Investigates and resolves third-party payment issues.
  • Serves patients with a professional, caring demeanor for quality patient experience.
  • Maintains proper records and documents as required by state and federal laws.
  • Prioritizes and fills prescriptions based on specifics to ensure excellent care and service.
  • Fills bottles and affixes appropriate labels for verification by Pharmacist.
  • Loads prescription bags into will call system and consolidates daily.
  • Follows procedure to properly return to stock medications.
  • Follows procedure when receiving courier bags.
  • Accurately counts and closes each register nightly, creates daily deposit form, and maintains accuracy in transactions.
  • Answers phones with proper phone etiquette.
  • Receives and stocks daily RX & OTC orders.
  • Works together with Pharmacists and other technicians to assist patients with prescriptions.
  • Ensures all supplies are adequately stocked and inventory is maintained.
  • Maintains and refills robot daily.
  • Assists Pharmacist in daily operations of the outpatient pharmacy.
  • Participates in department huddles.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Maintain a current registration with the South Carolina State Board of Pharmacy
