About the position

Genoa Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the functions of our mental health and specialty pharmacy. This position is integral to our mission of serving behavioral health and addiction treatment communities, as we strive to provide more than just medication; we aim to change lives for the better. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care and support in managing their medications and treatment plans. In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties. Your day-to-day activities will include providing exceptional customer service to consumers and clinic staff, filling prescription orders, and making them available for verification. You will also be tasked with ordering, receiving, and storing incoming pharmacy supplies, as well as processing wholesaler medication orders. Maintaining accurate inventory records is essential, and you will work closely with the pharmacist to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Communication is key in this position, as you will need to demonstrate strong verbal and written skills while interacting with patients and healthcare professionals. Additionally, you may be required to make occasional deliveries, which will constitute less than 10% of your time, using your own vehicle with mileage reimbursement provided. Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
  • Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
  • Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
  • Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
  • Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
  • Work with the Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy functions and ensure compliance with all federal and state requirements
  • Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
  • Communicate effectively with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Make occasional deliveries when needed, using your own vehicle and reimbursed for mileage
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Missouri
  • 6+ months of Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Access to reliable transportation & valid US driver's license
