About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical services to inpatients, outpatients, and various hospital departments. This position is also involved in pharmacy data processing, inventory control, and other duties within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to patients.
  • Involved in pharmacy data processing and inventory control.
  • Prepare, store, compound, and dispense medicines and medical devices.
  • Advise patients and healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of medications.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pharmacy technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, or equivalent, required within one year of employment if not received by date of hire.
  • Competency in sterile product and chemotherapy preparation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively work through problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician, hospital preferred but not required.
