About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club, you will be responsible for processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Your role will involve operating cash registers, stocking and organizing pharmacy merchandise, and assisting in the prescription fulfillment process. You will also provide excellent patient/member service, enter prescription data into pharmacy software, fill prescriptions accurately, and assist members during prescription pick-up. Your contributions will help maintain the Pharmacy's professional reputation and ensure a safe and efficient shopping environment for our members.

Responsibilities

  • Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
  • Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
  • Maintains the Pharmacy area in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process when necessary.
  • Promotes and maintains the Pharmacy's professional reputation and provides patients/members with pharmacy products and services.
  • Provides patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging the member and identifying their needs.
  • Enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading and translating prescription information.
  • Fills prescriptions by retrieving orders and measuring medications accurately.
  • Provides member assistance during prescription pick-up by verifying and entering patient information.

Requirements

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
