About the position
The position is accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. As a full-time certified pharmacy technician, the individual will operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the role includes supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, adhering to company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics. Responsibilities also include the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel, leading training, coaching, and performance management, and making decisions regarding performance management including discipline and termination.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer complaints and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Assist pharmacist in the delivery of patient care including patient registration and prescription data entry.
- Complete patient and physician calls under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist with healthcare service offerings including administering vaccines and health screenings.
- Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in pharmacy operations.
- Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies.
- Ensure the pharmacy is clean, neat, orderly, and stocked with adequate supplies.
- Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist.
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues.
- Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate off-site immunization clinics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
