About the position

The position involves ensuring compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for assigned areas by analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring loss prevention and safety controls, overseeing safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews, and developing and implementing action plans. The role also includes providing pharmaceutical care to customers by processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders under the direction of a Pharmacist, counseling customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintaining confidential information, and adhering to controlled medication procedures as permitted by local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, the position requires ensuring the accuracy of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances, evaluating potential chemical interactions and side effects associated with prescribed medications, and ensuring accurate communication and interpretation of written prescriptions to/from physicians. Customer service is a key component, which includes acknowledging customer needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, and maintaining a safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Analyzes and interprets reports related to loss prevention and safety controls.
  • Oversees safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Develops and implements action plans for compliance.
  • Processes and accurately dispenses prescription orders under the direction of a Pharmacist.
  • Counsels customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information and documentation.
  • Operates equipment such as cash registers to process customer purchases.
  • Receives and stocks merchandise/supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
  • Maintains the Pharmacy area in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains merchandise presentation in the Pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in final year at an accredited Pharmacy school.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Science.
