About the position

As the Pharmacy Drug Use Policy (DUP) Manager at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing patient care through the development, maintenance, and implementation of drug use policies, protocols, and initiatives. This position requires collaboration with a diverse team of medical, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare professionals to ensure that drug information services and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program are effectively managed. You will be responsible for overseeing a team that includes 6 Drug Use Policy Specialists and 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists, focusing on human resources management and strategic planning for biologics and therapeutic advances. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with medical staff to develop evidence-based guidelines, evaluating new drugs for the formulary, and preparing content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings. You will address complex therapeutic issues and target drug programs, ensuring that the policies and practices align with the highest standards of patient care. This role is essential in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the pharmacy department, contributing to Cedars-Sinai's reputation as a leader in healthcare. In this hybrid position, you will have the opportunity to work from home once a week, allowing for a balance between collaboration with your team and independent work. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy, and healthcare team members on drug use policies and protocols.
  • Manage human resources for the Drug Use Policy team, including 6 Drug Use Policy Specialists and 3 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists.
  • Strategically plan for biologics and therapeutic advances.
  • Develop evidence-based guidelines in collaboration with medical staff.
  • Evaluate new drugs for the formulary and prepare content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings.
  • Address complex therapeutic issues and manage target drug programs.

Requirements

  • Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy in the USA.
  • Post-graduate residency training preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
  • Board certification in pharmacology preferred.
  • BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical background.
  • Experience in Drug Use Policy preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within a pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines.
