The Pharmacy Courier position at Digirad Imaging Solutions Inc. is a vital role aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of the community. As a Pharmacy Courier, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of radiopharmaceuticals to various medical facilities, ensuring that these essential materials reach their destinations in accordance with customer demand and established routes. This role is not just about driving; it involves preparing doses and cases for delivery, conducting wipe tests, and loading and unloading containers while adhering to prescribed safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. If you are an experienced and safe driver who thrives in a team environment, this opportunity is tailored for you. The position is part-time and requires flexibility, as it involves both day and night shifts with varying start and end times based on client needs. Additionally, there is a mandatory on-call component, typically requiring two days of on-call work per month, which may include weekends. Candidates must be adaptable to work different days, shifts, holidays, and overtime as necessary to meet business demands. Compensation for this role is set at $15 per hour, with an additional $2 per hour for on-call duties. The primary responsibilities include preparing and making deliveries to customer accounts using a company vehicle, packaging radiopharmaceuticals for shipment, processing returned packages, maintaining vehicle conditions, restocking pharmacy supplies, and completing annual in-service requirements for safe handling of radioactive materials and defensive driving. General facility cleaning and other duties may also be required as part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehicle (non-cdl)
  • Packages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containers
  • Processes packages returned from customer locations following company policies & procedures
  • Maintains vehicles in proper working condition
  • Restocks the pharmacy with supplies needed for normal day-to-day operations
  • Successfully completes annual in-service requirements for safe handling of radioactive material and defensive driving
  • Performs general facility cleaning and other duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
  • Prior delivery driving experience a plus
  • Ability to lift containers weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
  • Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in an on call rotation
  • Flexibility to work various days, schedules, hours or overtime as needed
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
