Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, coworkers, and ancillary departments.
• Inform patients of delays in filling prescriptions.
• Retrieve completed orders from will call and call a pharmacist for consultations.
• Coordinate purchasing and pricing of OTC inventory and office supplies.
• Manage inventory returns and outdates.
• Ensure self-service pharmacy items are stocked and the pharmacy front end is neat and orderly.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise and assist customers within the pharmacy.
• Bill insurance and customers for prescriptions and merchandise, resolving routine questions or escalating as needed.
• Maintain patient charges, payroll deductions, and monthly billing per local policy.
• Operate the cash register or POS system and perform end-of-day balance procedures.
• Answer telephones and emails, responding to inquiries that do not require pharmacist attention.
• Record complete messages for follow-up by pharmacy members.
• Reconcile invoices to medications and supplies received according to established procedures.
• Monitor inventory and report discrepancies to a technician or pharmacist.
• Deliver medications to patients as assigned and allowed by regulations.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
