About the position
As a Pharmacy Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient transactions at our pharmacy. Your primary responsibilities will include handling customer payments, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service. You will work closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support daily operations and contribute to a positive customer experience. This position is essential for maintaining the flow of operations within the pharmacy and ensuring that customers leave satisfied with their experience. In this role, you will greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries, providing information about products and services in a friendly and professional manner. You will accurately process customer payments using cash registers or point-of-sale systems, handling cash, credit, and debit transactions efficiently and securely. Additionally, you will assist customers with prescription drop-offs and pickups, ensuring that prescription orders are processed correctly and promptly. Inventory management is another key responsibility, where you will monitor stock levels of over-the-counter medications and other products, alerting the pharmacy team about low stock or inventory issues. Data entry is also a part of your duties, as you will input transaction details into the pharmacy's system and maintain accurate records of sales and customer interactions. Compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and health regulations, is essential. Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area is crucial, as is ensuring that the pharmacy environment is welcoming and professional. You will also be responsible for addressing and resolving any customer complaints or concerns in a timely and effective manner, escalating issues to the pharmacy manager if necessary.

Requirements

- Attention to detail for handling transactions accurately and managing cash effectively.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
