About the position

The Pharmacy Business Technical Analyst at Intermountain Health is responsible for sustaining and improving business processes within the Pharmacy Services team. This role serves as a central point for interface changes related to systems and data, focusing on process improvements, reporting, quality monitoring, and managing vendor relationships. The analyst will also ensure compliance with government requirements and support project management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Business Process Management (BPM) including modeling processes and assessing results.
  • Interprets and monitors departmental contractual compliance with government requirements.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced analysts.
  • Maintains understanding of project management methodologies and participates as a subject matter expert in projects.
  • Provides support during project implementation, including troubleshooting and vendor relations.
  • Facilitates the development and execution of user acceptance testing for system changes.
  • Gathers and documents business requirements and functional mapping for system enhancements.
  • Evaluates and assists process owners in planning and executing process improvement activities.
  • Develops and maintains queries and reports for stakeholder use.
  • Provides business intelligence solutions by analyzing data for informed decision-making.
  • Collects and analyzes data to assess trends for performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in health care, health insurance, business analysis, or information systems.
  • Five years of experience in health care, health insurance, business analysis, or information systems if no degree is held.
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills with spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
  • Ability to design and run intermediate to complex queries and reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Pharmacy business analyst experience
  • Experience in a health care related industry
  • Understanding of information used in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficient at solving complex problems
  • Skilled at communicating business concepts to technical and non-technical personnel
  • Knowledge of health care related products and services
  • Knowledge of market dynamics, legal contracts, and health insurance regulations.
