About the position

The Business Analyst position at SelectHealth is responsible for sustaining and improving business processes impacted by data and systems within the pharmacy department. This role serves as a central point for interface changes, develops and executes process improvements, and monitors quality and compliance with government requirements. The analyst will utilize analytical skills to organize and evaluate data, providing insights to support various operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Business Process Management (BPM) including modeling processes using various notations (i.e., BPMN).
  • Interprets and monitors departmental contractual compliance of government requirements (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, ACA).
  • Provides guidance to less experienced analysts.
  • Maintains an understanding of current project management application development methodologies, tools, and techniques (SDLC).
  • Provides project management for small to medium sized projects, initiatives, and applications.
  • Supports projects and applications through the process and post-implementation, including troubleshooting and vendor relations.
  • Facilitates the development and execution of user acceptance scenarios and scripts for testing system changes.
  • Gathers and documents business requirements and functional mapping documents for system enhancements.
  • Evaluates and provides assistance to process owners in planning and executing process improvement activities.
  • Develops, publishes, and maintains intermediate queries and reports for various uses.
  • Provides business intelligence solutions by turning data into useful information for stakeholders.
  • Collects, manipulates, and analyzes data from system to system for performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in health care, health insurance, business analysis, or information systems.
  • Five years of experience in health care, health insurance, business analysis, or information systems (if no degree).
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills with spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and run intermediate to complex queries and reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience working in a health care related industry.
  • Experience working in the pharmacy field.
  • Understands most types of information used in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient at solving complex problems.
  • Skilled at bringing order to ideas and processes.
  • Knowledge of health care related products and services.
