About the position

Responsibilities

  • Record patients' medical history and vital signs.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information.
  • Take and record vital signs for patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Operate specialized medical equipment as required.
  • Adhere to clinic and departmental safety regulations.
  • Enter patient data into electronic health records.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience must include recording patients' medical history and vital signs, preparing treatment rooms, and interviewing patients.
  • For GS-03: One year of study in medical, health, or related fields or six months of general experience.
  • For GS-04: Two years of study with at least 12 semester hours in related subjects or six months of general experience and six months of specialized experience.
  • For GS-05: A full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.
