About the position

The Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS) is responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote Novo Nordisk's diabetes product portfolio to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, understanding the local payer market, and tailoring approaches to meet customer needs. The DCS will collaborate with internal teams and utilize analytical tools to develop territory business plans that drive sales and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and office staff.
  • Understand local payer market dynamics and their impact on customer decisions.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop account plans based on stakeholder business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to create and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers, support staff, and pharmacies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach.
  • Collaborate across functions to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model with external customers.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accountability.
  • Manage territory budget and marketing promotional program budget.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of disease states and treatment options.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, training programs, and conventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Relevant Novo Nordisk experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel) required.
  • Self-starter with decision-making ability and minimal supervision.
  • Proven leadership skills and understanding of diabetes disease state.
  • Ability to communicate technical and scientific information effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sales data and call reporting software.
  • Knowledge of Novo Nordisk's products and clinical studies.
