About the position

The Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS) at Novo Nordisk is responsible for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote the company's portfolio of diabetes and cardiometabolic products to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, understanding the local payer market, and tailoring approaches to meet customer needs while driving business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and office staff.
  • Understand local payer market and its impact on customer decisions.
  • Analyze bidding policies and contracts to influence formulary status.
  • Develop account plans based on stakeholders' business practices.
  • Utilize market understanding to create and execute territory business plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prescribers, support staff, and pharmacies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to share knowledge and business opportunities.
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model with external customers.
  • Evaluate territory business opportunities and create business plans.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accountability.
  • Control samples and manage territory budget according to company policies.
  • Understand disease states and treatment options, including competitor products.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, training programs, and conventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Relevant Novo Nordisk experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel) required.
  • Self-starter with decision-making ability and minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sales data and call reporting software.
  • Proven leadership skills.
