About the position

The Diabetes Sales Team at Novo Nordisk is responsible for leading the US sales efforts for a comprehensive portfolio of cardiometabolic products, focusing on diabetes and obesity treatments. The role involves implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively promote these products to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff, ensuring that the latest therapies reach those in need. The position emphasizes a balance between performance and compassion, aiming to drive business success while supporting patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies for Novo Nordisk's product portfolio.
  • Maintain relationships with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
  • Analyze local payer market dynamics and their impact on customer decisions.
  • Identify business opportunities by understanding territory customer groups and affiliations.
  • Develop account plans tailored to stakeholders' business practices.
  • Utilize analytical tools to create territory business plans and engage customers effectively.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement sales plans.
  • Manage territory budget and promotional programs to support sales goals.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of diabetes disease states and treatment options.
  • Participate in sales and marketing meetings, contributing product and disease state knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Pharm D required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, or Military preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel) required; experience with sales data software is ideal.
  • Self-starter with decision-making ability and minimal supervision required.
  • Solid understanding of diabetes disease state and Novo Nordisk's products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant experience with Novo Nordisk preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills.
