About the position

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a full-time PET/CT Technologist to operate imaging equipment and provide diagnostic services to patients. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, ensuring that patients are informed and comfortable throughout the imaging process. The technologist will work in a mobile capacity, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing radiology's role in diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, ensuring proper positioning.
  • Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Adjust PET/CT scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and peers.
  • Follow physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect patients and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly, promoting safety habits.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and disinfected after each use.
  • Comply with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assess, prepare, record, and administer radio pharmaceuticals according to regulations.
  • Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors for a safe work environment.
  • Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with training new associates and providing technical expertise.
  • Perform quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Conduct departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards.

Requirements

  • Certification as a PET/CT Technologist.
  • Experience in performing PET/CT imaging procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in radiology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mobile imaging services.
  • Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Additional certifications in radiology or nuclear medicine.
