About the position
The Personal Lines Renewal Underwriter is responsible for efficiently quoting renewals and managing the renewal process for personal property lines insurance. This role requires adherence to service standards and compliance while achieving annual income goals. The underwriter will review and resolve quote submissions, manage renewals, handle contract binding, and ensure accuracy in policy documents and endorsements.
Responsibilities
- Quoting renewals with efficiency and accuracy based on market availability and company compliance.
- Reviewing and resolving all quote submissions within 48 hours and endorsements within ten business days.
- Managing renewals 30 days prior to policy expiration while adhering to renewal service standard guidelines.
- Handling contract binding renewals and providing accurate reporting of all renewal generation activity.
- Diligently checking endorsements and other policy documents for accuracy.
- Reviewing dwelling inspection reports for approval and sending repair recommendation letters as needed.
Requirements
- Prior experience in Personal Property Lines underwriting (Excess and Surplus preferred).
- Experience underwriting in AL, FL, GA, NC, SC, or VA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software applications and Carrier systems.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team, productivity-based environment.
- Ability to multitask efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Initiative and drive to make positive changes to processes.
