About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys in the preparation and management of personal injury cases, requiring strong organizational skills, legal drafting expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of personal injury law and workers' compensation law.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Manage case files using iManage software, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of case progress and deadlines, ensuring timely filing of documents.
- Review medical records and other evidence relevant to personal injury cases.
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and filing documents.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a legal setting.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and workers' compensation law is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and case management processes.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex information effectively.
- Familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in personal injury law (1 year preferred).
