About the position
The Personal Injury Litigation Legal Assistant at Blankingship & Keith, P.C. is responsible for supporting attorneys in the Personal Injury practice group by managing case progression, preparing legal documents, and performing various administrative tasks. This role requires strong technical and communication skills, as well as a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in litigation and personal injury law.
Responsibilities
- Manage the progression of personal injury cases to final disposition.
- Create and maintain electronic files for cases.
- Prepare and process correspondence, memoranda, and complex legal documents.
- Prepare documents for state and federal court filings, including discovery requests and responses, letters, pleadings, and motions.
- E-file documents in various state and federal courts.
- Schedule meetings and appointments for attorneys.
- Maintain attorney calendars and contact information.
- Conduct new client intake and manage time entry and billing.
- Maintain files utilizing the firm's electronic records management system.
- Coordinate travel and manage expense reimbursement.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal assistant role.
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience supporting attorneys in personal injury litigation.
- Experience with e-filing and document management systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and client service skills.
